Can we really do Nusa Penida in one day from Kuta?

Will we go down to the beach at Kelingking?

The itinerary assumes the viewpoint only. The trail down to the sand is very steep, partly bamboo handrails, and takes over an hour each way in the heat. It is doable for fit walkers, but it costs you one of the other stops. Decide on the day with your island driver.

Is this tour suitable for children or older parents?

Nusa Penida is a separate island about forty-five minutes by fast boat from Sanur, and this tour covers both sides of it in a single day. The early start is the price you pay for that: pickup in Kuta or Seminyak is around 06:00 so you are at Sanur harbour for the first boats. Crossings are usually fine but can be choppy, especially in the windy months around July and August. On the island you switch to a car and driver for the day.

The west coast is the famous part: the Kelingking cliff with its dinosaur-shaped headland, Broken Beach's natural rock arch, and Angel's Billabong, a tide pool right on the cliff edge. The east coast has Diamond Beach, reached down a stairway cut into the limestone, and Goa Raja, a cave temple with a view over the sea. Crystal Bay near the harbour is the swim stop, with calm water and a reef close to shore. The island's roads are narrow and slow, so a good part of the day is spent in the car between stops.

This suits travelers who want to see the headline viewpoints in one go and do not mind an early start and a lot of steps. It is not a beach-lounging day. The Kelingking descent to the sand is steep and takes over an hour each way; most visitors stay at the viewpoint, which is what the timeline assumes.
